Research

The innovative solution of increasingly complex questions requires cooperation with experts in the differentiated fields. Together with our renowned partners from science and research, we develop a holistic understanding of the problem and a scope of solutions for questions in the field of mobility. Through multidisciplinary project management and a broad knowledge of mobility, society and technology, we combine the results from the various disciplines into an innovative overall result.

Transforming our transport system towards climate-friendly mobility in just 10 to 15 years is a huge challenge that we urgently need to address. It is scientificly clear that we will not be able to do this through new technologies alone or without a massive change in our mobility behaviour. However, this also means that without a holistic approach that sees people at the centre and not the infrastructure and means of transport, we will not achieve the so-called mobility transition.

This means that research in the field of mobility must take all aspects into account and always take a holistic view of the various issues. That's why our Rapp mobility team consists not only of traffic engineers, but also of humanities scholars and spatial planners. Depending on the issue, we also have technicians from the ITS team and partners from universities, research institutions, industry and planning offices. The focus of our research work is on automation, the linking and use of data from different sources and the analysis of their performance.

In most projects, we develop new methods together with our partners to meet our demand for holistic analysis. For us, research is an important part of our activity in order to be able to provide our clients with knowledge that is always up to date in view of rapidly developing technologies.
